Project Summary

Kutztown University was in need of a new student housing facility to accommodate a growing student resident population. The 258,000 square foot Dixon Hall includes six floors with housing for 856 students. The building includes 245 suites and 40 apartment units for groups of two and four students, and includes a central courtyard - including Dixon Marketplace and Dixon Creamery. The project called for 500 to 600 additional parking spaces.

Project Highlights

RPA Engineering provided HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design and construction administration services for this $55 million residence hall situated on the south side of the campus.

The entire building features wireless internet technology and connectivity which also provides the television cable system. An integrated building management system links directly to the campus network system which monitors and controls the HVAC system. An enhanced air filtration system includes humidity control and a special filtration system for improved indoor air quality.
